Police State Brutality Made Apparent Tonight @OCCUPYOAKLAND
As a life-long Bay Area resident, I am embarrassed by the behavior of the local government and police force. According to the Associated Press, the OPD is denying using flash grenades and rubber bullets, despite eyewitness accounts, helicopter footage and these photos. History is not going to be kind to those on the wrong side of this fight. The whole world is watching.
Well put Danny. Those I know in Oakland were saying that it was a warzone last night. It’s hard to believe this happened just across the bay. People around here are lulled into thinking that we live in some kind of progressive mecca, and that something as vile as these “raids” on protesters can’t happen here.
Even more is the News today that in the last 30 years the income of the top one percent has risen by 300%, and that they now control 20% of overall income in America.
